Ingredients:
- 1 cup Besan
- 1 cup Yogurt
- 1 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
- 2 tbsp Suji
- 1 tsp Turmeric Powder
- 2 tbsp Oil
- Salt
- 1/4 tsp Sugar
- Water
- For tempering:
- 2 tbsp Oil
- 3-4 Green Chillies
- 5-6 Curry Leaves
- 1 tsp Coriander Leaves
- 1 1/2 tsp Sugar
- 1 tsp Mustard Seeds
- A pinch of Asafoetida
Method:
Give a sweet and tangy twist to the classic dhokla with this khatta meetha dhokla recipe. It is super soft and spongy and is topped with a flavourful tempering. You can have this delicious Gujarati delicacy for breakfast or even as a snack.
How to Make Khatta Meetha Dhokla
- First, we need to prepare the dhokla batter. Add besan, turmeric powder, oil, yogurt, sugar, salt and water in a bowl. Combine everything together and keep it aside for 10-15 minutes.
- Now, add baking soda to the batter. Mix well.
- Pour the batter into a steamer and let it steam for 15-20 mins.
- Next, we need to prepare the tempering. For this, heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and allow them to splutter. Add curry leaves, green chilies and asafoetida, sugar and water. Close the lid and switch off the flame.
- Pour this tempering over the dhoklas and garnish with fresh coriander leaves. Khatta meetha dhokla is ready!
